2015 Saltonstall Vineyard Pinot Noir

Tasting notes:

Dark Ruby in color this Pinot showcases the effects of strong winds blowing through the Petaluma Gap AVA. The challenging growing conditions lead to clusters with a large number of very small seedless grapes that contribute to this intense color.

Opulent aromatics rise from the glass showing contrasting notes of rich ripe cherry and strawberry balanced by spicy notes of clove and an herbaceous element just underneath the more overt fruit aromas. On the palate however, the wine is harmonious and lush with a nice balance between the fruitiness the nose hinted at and some nice earthy flavors. (Updated 1.08.19 - Alan)
