The 2012 growing season was the first warm year after two very cold vintages. The wines from this vintage are very high quality and are great expressions of where the grapes were grown. Similar to the 2014 RRV blend, it shows classic aromas of cherry cola and dried hay but also plentiful black tea notes and a hint of Jasmine. The palate is generous with lots of cherry and ripe strawberry. There is also a nice earth component with spicy cedar notes. It is soft and pretty on the palate with lots of natural silky tannins from the fully developed grape skins that give the wine a velvety feel.
