2023 Cabernet Franc

Tasting notes: This is our first Cabernet Franc and we are thrilled that it came out as we hoped. In Bordeaux the grape is typically blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and other bigger varieties but our model is the lighter style as typified by the 100% Cabernet Franc wines from the Loire Valley. Pretty rose petal and cassis meld with a flint or a gun powder note. There is a hard to place herbal note that come across as something like lemon verbena. The front of the palate shows nice red fruit that leads to a pretty and balanced mid palate with nice fine-grained tannins on the finish. (3.20.25 - Alan)
