2021 Perli Vineyard Pinot Noir
Tasting notes:
The nose on the Perli is, as typical, slow to emerge after cellaring. It is subtle, earthy, and savory. In other words, an exciting young wine. Perli always gives us fun blueberry and floral notes that evolve ever so slowly as the wine ages.
At the moment dried fall leaves, hibiscus, jasmine, and fresh thyme sneak around the rim of your glass, not overt but teasingly. The palate presents another face to this wine, it is bright and brimming with bright and rich cherry flavors. These bright red fruit flavors come across with a chalky chunk of tannin that will soften over time. The finish is still focused on these bright cherry and cranberry notes but also hints at some roasted fall vegetable notes that will move this wine away from fruit focused to more earthy with some age.
