2019 Perli Vineyard Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes:
The 2019 growing season in the Mendocino Ridge AVA gave us wines that lean decidedly towards the earthy side of the spectrum. The dominant aromas are a twiggy/dry forest floor note that melds with orange zest and a resinous aroma of freshly cut pine. And above all this earthy and sharp action floats a lovely veil of hibiscus flower. Plenty of cherry comes through when you take a sip impressing as more of a Rainier cherry than Bing. The drinking window is now wide open for this wine. Mouth coating tannins add a lot of structure but are also starting to soften so this is wine has great structure and a lush finish. It is very harmonious across the palate with great aging potential. (Updated 8.25.23 - Alan)
