2014 Transverse Pinot Noir
2014 was a year that produced lighter more delicate wines. The prominent aromas of this wine are earthy forest floor and mushroom with a little lilac and licorice. The dark fruit aromas that were obvious when this wine was young have really faded to the background, a pleasant echo of its youth. The wine is gorgeous on the palate showing a prominent flavor of black tea. It is soft and round with a nice grip in the mid-palate. The floral components are heightened as the wine crosses your tongue and aromas drift up the back of your throat. The finish is light and pretty with a lingering Pomegranate taste that invites you back for another sip. (Updated 3.18.21 - Alan)
