2011 Floodgate Vineyard Gewürztraminer

Stylistically this wine is very much in the style of Gewürztraminer from the Alsace region of France.  On the nose you will get the classic honeysuckle, peach, and melon aromas. On the palate this is a bright, dry version of Gewürz, not your Grandmother's sweet sipper. In the mouth, along with hints of stone fruit there is also a certain mineral note of slate that gives the finish a nice edginess.
