We age the Transverse wines much longer before release than our other wines — partly because we blend them with that in mind and give them a little while longer to come together, but also because we want to show how Pinot turns into such a lovely experience with the proper time in the bottle. The prominent aromas of this wine are of forest floor and mushroom, but there are also some fun black cherry and blackberry notes with a little thyme-y herbal note. On the palate, the texture is super silky and supple. Even so, the wine is brighter than the dark fruit notes on the nose might suggest. The velvety finish is quite long, and is a playful dance between creamy palate weight and bright acidity.
