Vibrant and racy! - This light Rosé of Pinot Noir will pull you in with soft red fruit on the nose and palate, and have you wanting more after every refreshing sip. Pale salmon in color, this is a very light bodied wine with elevated acidity that showcase the pretty side of Pinot.
The 2010 Floodgate Pinot is a bright, vibrant wine. The cool growing season gave us fruit that shows sour cherry, cranberry and strawberry mixed with delicate earthy aromas. Truly an elegant Pinot and a great candidate for cellaring.
The 2010 Perli has a wonderful balance between fruit and earth. Cherry aromas are balanced by cedar, strawberry and violets are balanced by mint. On the palate there are noticable tannins from the thicker skins we get from the Perli vineyard giving this wine many layers to peel back from first taste through the long finish.
There's an old adage that says: "It's too warm in California to make Burgundian styled Pinot noir." In 2010 we had a truly Burgundian summer, minus the rains they typically see in France, and this Russian River Valley Pinot noir shows the best of what a cool summer can bring to Pinot.
