We're always watching and waiting for Perli to come out of its shell, and we're just seeing (or tasting) how 2013 will play out. The first thing that came to mind as I picked up a glass to start taking notes was strawberry-rhubarb pie. Pretty red fruit notes with a hint of something mouthwatering and tart hiding below the surface. I also got aromas of rose petals and blood orange. You'll notice that there are some decent tannins on the palate, with the strawberry also present — and, interestingly, late on the finish, I sense a bit of black currant.
