The nose on this Pinot is a nice mix of fruit and earth. Strawberry-rhubarb, violet and Red Vines aromas mix with notes of dried leaves and something in the mint family (maybe catmint or pennyroyal?). The mouthfeel is round and lush, but focused on red fruit flavors. Ripe cherry, ripe strawberry and cola really announce that this is a RRV Pinot. Light, chalky tannins show up on the palate and linger a bit into the medium finish. While we’re loving the youthful exuberance of this wine, it will continue to open up into 2019 and beyond.
